A cooling trend is expected to begin Wednesday and by Thursday and Friday, temperatures will fall a few degrees below normal as marine layer clouds return to coasts and valleys.
Already Wednesday morning temperatures are trending several degrees cooler than Tuesday morning.
Offshore winds are weakening and fire weather advisories have been allowed to expire.
Winds are turning onshore across coasts and coastal valleys in the afternoon.
High temperatures will trend 5-15 degrees lower than Tuesday.
A few degrees of warming is possible in interior valleys.
Periods of high clouds will linger through Wednesday.
A High Surf Advisory continues until 3 p.m. Wednesday.
During this time, there's potential for breaking waves 14-20 feet, local sets to 22 feet, along with dangerous rip currents.
On Thursday, a week trough will bring our first real onshore day in quite some time with much cooler temperatures and the return of the marine layer.
As trough moves out, there are potentials for sundowner winds in southern Santa Barbara County move in Thursday night into Friday.
